Getting The Best Travel Deal

Filed under: UK Finance, Spending, Holidaying — Guru @ 11:39 am

If you are planning on a vacation, the best way to stretch your money is by researching your options and buying as early as possible.  There are several good deals available that will give you the most for your money.  Whether you are travelling as a family or on your own, you want to plan ahead and get the best deals available to you.

If you are planning a trip to a place you have been before, than you should book the flight on your own online.  If, however, you are planning a trip to a destination you have never been before, you may want to consider using a travel agent, as they will be able to find you the best deal available.  But be aware, because agent will charge a fee for the services, but often if you book more than one ticket the booking fee is waived.  So check with your travel agent for quotes and charges before buying your ticket online, because you could be getting a better deal through the agent.  But it does help to shop around online.  There are some sites online, such as SideStep.com and BookingBuddy.com that allow you to see results from several sites and allow you compare prices much quicker and easier.

The time of year that you travel can make a big difference in the price of your ticket.  For example, it is cheaper to fly to Europe in the winter season, and you can get good rates in the early spring or late fall; summer is the most expensive time to fly to Europe.  Also European cruises are cheaper in the late spring and early fall because children are in school.  A cruise to the Caribbean is cheapest in September and October, and if you plan to fly to Hawaii, May or September is the best time to save on airfare and hotels.

By shopping around, being flexible, and planning ahead, you can save yourself hundreds on your next vacation, allowing you to have more spending money.  When you do search hard and find the best deal, you will feel that your trip was well deserved.
